Het Italiaans Cultureel Instituut heeft het genoegen een Artist Talk te presenteren met de gerenommeerde Italiaanse schilder ERK14.

De talk zal in het Engels plaatsvinden.

Dit evenement biedt de gelegenheid om kennis te maken met en dieper in te gaan op het artistieke traject van de bekende schilder, zijn creatieve proces en de centrale thema’s binnen zijn artistieke onderzoek. De kunstenaar beweegt zich tussen de erfenis van de popart en een nieuw realisme en hanteert een grafische maar neo-realistische techniek waarin alledaagse objecten een eigen symboliek krijgen. Zijn werken combineren surrealisme, symboliek en popcultuur via een intens onderzoek naar de betekenis van alledaagse objecten, die worden omgevormd tot visuele vertellingen vol zeggingskracht. Objecten en kleuren fungeren als instrumenten binnen een picturaal proces dat zich ontvouwt als een therapeutische handeling en als een drager van herinneringen, en de toeschouwer uitnodigt tot een immersieve ervaring en een persoonlijke interpretatie van het werk.

Dit evenement wordt georganiseerd in samenwerking met Collection M Gallery in Amsterdam en valt samen met de tentoonstelling Room14 met werken van ERK14, samengesteld door curator Monica Pohlen, in The Gallery van het Rosewood Hotel in Amsterdam(Prinsengracht 432 436, 1017 KE Amsterdam) van 2 tot 28 februari.

Biografie van de kunstenaar

ERK14 is geboren in 1986 in Carmagnola (Turijn) en woont en werkt in Napels.

Als kunstenaar, artdirector en designer deed hij elf jaar ervaring op bij communicatiebureaus in Napels, Rome en Milaan. Daarnaast richtte hij zijn eigen streetwearmerk op en werkte hij samen met modemerken. In 2014 startte hij een persoonlijk artistiek onderzoeks­traject. Zijn praktijk komt voort uit de behoefte om de dynamiek van het dagelijks leven en de vaak onuitgesproken ongemakken die daarmee gepaard gaan, te verbeelden.

ERK14 bouwde internationaal een reputatie op en exposeerde onder meer bij:

The Italian Cultural Institute is pleased to present an Artist Talk with the renowned Italian painter ERK14.

“An Evening with ERK14”

The talk will be held in English.

This event offers an opportunity to discover and explore the artistic journey of the well-known painter, his creative process, and the central themes of his artistic research. The artist moves between Pop legacies and a new realism, employing a graphic yet neo-realist technique in which everyday objects acquire their own symbolism. His works combine surrealism, symbolism, and pop culture through an intense investigation into the symbolism of common objects, transformed into visual narratives rich in meaning. Objects and colors become tools within a pictorial process that takes shape as a therapeutic act and as a repository of memory, inviting the viewer to an immersive experience and to a personal interpretation of the work.

This event is organized in collaboration with Collection M Gallery in Amsterdam and coincides with ERK14’s exhibition Room14, curated by Monica Pohlen, at The Gallery of the Rosewood Hotel in Amsterdam (Prinsengracht 432 436, 1017 KE Amsterdam) from the 2d of February until the 28th of February 2026.

Artist Biography

ERK14 was born in 1986 in Carmagnola (Turin) and lives and works in Naples.
An artist, art director, and designer, after eleven years of experience in communication agencies in Naples, Rome, and Milan, the creation of his own streetwear brand, and collaborations with fashion labels, he began a personal artistic research path in 2014. His practice stems from the need to narrate everyday dynamics and the often unspoken discomforts that run through them.
